Air Pruning

🧑‍🌾 Cultivation●● Intermediate

When a root tip reaches the edge of a fabric pot or air-pruning container and contacts dry air, the tip desiccates and dies. This triggers the root to branch behind the dead tip, creating a denser, more fibrous root system. Air pruning prevents the root circling that occurs in traditional plastic pots, which can lead to girdling roots and poor establishment after transplanting.
