Septoria Leaf Spot
sep-TOR-ee-ah🦠 Diseases●● Intermediate
Septoria lycopersici is one of the most common tomato diseases worldwide. It produces tiny (1/16–1/8 inch) circular lesions with dark brown borders, gray centers, and sometimes visible black fruiting bodies (pycnidia). The fungus spreads via rain splash from lower leaves upward. Management includes removing lower foliage, mulching to prevent soil splash, staking for airflow, and copper-based fungicides.
