    🦠 Diseases Basic

    Also known as: foliar spot

Circular or irregular spots on leaves caused by various fungal (Cercospora, Septoria, Alternaria) or bacterial (Xanthomonas, Pseudomonas) pathogens. Spots may be tan, brown, black, or purple, often with concentric rings or yellow halos. While rarely fatal, severe infections cause premature defoliation and reduce vigor.

    English leaf + spot

    Example

Rake and destroy fallen leaves to reduce the inoculum of leaf spot fungi overwintering in debris.
