Overview

Myosotis sylvatica 'Rosylva' is the pink-flowered form of the woodland forget-me-not, growing 8–12 inches (20–30 cm) tall and wide. Soft rose-pink tiny flowers with yellow eyes in scorpioid cyme clusters bloom from April through June. The pink gives a warm alternative to the sky-blue of 'Bluesylva' — planting 'Rosylva' alongside 'Bluesylva' and 'Snowsylva' creates a three-color forget-me-not carpet (pink + blue + white). Same biennial to short-lived perennial lifecycle, same self-sowing habit, same cultural needs as 'Bluesylva'. The pink color is softer and warmer, creating a romantic, cottage-garden effect. Moist, partial shade. Deer avoid the hairy foliage.

Native Range

The species Myosotis sylvatica is native to Europe. 'Rosylva' is a garden selection for pink flowers.

Suggested Uses

Used alongside 'Bluesylva' and 'Snowsylva' for a tricolor spring carpet. The pink forget-me-not for warm-toned spring displays. Beneath tulips and daffodils. Cottage gardens.

How to Identify

Identified by soft rose-pink tiny flowers with yellow eyes in scorpioid (curled) cyme clusters. The pink color separates this from the blue 'Bluesylva' and white 'Snowsylva'. Same soft hairy 'mouse ear' leaves and self-sowing habit.
