Also known as: racemose

A type of indeterminate inflorescence in which individual flowers are attached to the main axis by pedicels (short stalks), with the oldest flowers at the base and the youngest at the tip. Racemes are common in many plant families and range from the pendulous flower chains of wisteria to the upright spikes of foxglove. Each flower opens sequentially from bottom to top.
