Paclobutrazol

Paclobutrazol inhibits gibberellin synthesis, reducing canopy growth by 40–60% while redirecting energy to root development and increasing chlorophyll concentration. In urban arboriculture, it is applied as a soil drench around trees near power lines to reduce pruning frequency. It also increases abscisic acid levels, improving drought tolerance. Effects last 2–3 years per application.
