    Mosaic Virus

    🦠 Diseases●● Intermediate

    Also known as: TMV, CMV

Mosaic viruses (Tobacco Mosaic Virus, Cucumber Mosaic Virus, etc.) create distinctive light and dark green mottling on leaves, often with leaf distortion and dwarfed growth. They are spread by aphids, contaminated tools, and even human hands (TMV survives on surfaces for months). There is no cure; infected plants should be removed. Resistance genes (labeled "TMV" in seed catalogs) are the primary defense.
