Distichous

Distichous describes leaves, bracts, or flowers borne in two vertical ranks on opposite sides of an axis, so that from the end the stem looks flattened into a single plane. It contrasts with spiral or whorled arrangements. Many grasses, irises, and the arching stems of Solomon's seal carry their leaves distichously.
