Also known as: corymbiflora, corymbiflorum
A floral arrangement epithet describing flowers borne in corymbs — flat-topped or slightly convex flower clusters where the outer flower stalks are longer than the inner ones, bringing all flowers to approximately the same height. Corymbs are characteristic of many Rosaceae members. Appears as corymbiflorus (masculine), corymbiflora (feminine), or corymbiflorum (neuter).
Etymology
From Latin corymbus (a cluster of flowers or fruit) + flos/floris (flower), from Greek korymbos (a cluster, bunch).
Example
“Achillea corymbiflora and various Spiraea species with flat-topped flower heads both demonstrate the characteristically level, landing-pad flower clusters that give corymbiflorus plants their distinctive silhouette.”
