Also known as: anatolica, anatolicum
A geographic epithet marking a plant of Anatolia — the broad peninsula of western Asia that makes up most of modern Turkey, and which the ancient world called Asia Minor. Much of that country is high inland ground with hot dry summers and cold winters. Appears as anatolicus (masculine), anatolica (feminine), or anatolicum (neuter).
Etymology
From Anatolia, from Greek anatole ("the east", originally "sunrise"), + the adjectival suffix -icus, "belonging to".
