A leaf shape epithet marking foliage that is small in proportion to the rest of the genus, the direct counterpart of the large-leaved epithet macrophylla. It is the feminine ending, used with feminine genera. Appears as parvifolius (masculine), parvifolia (feminine), or parvifolium (neuter).

From Latin parvus (small) + folium (leaf), meaning "small-leaved."
