A habitat epithet for a plant of farmland, growing in or around cultivated fields and the disturbed ground that follows the plough. In practice it is applied to annual weeds of arable land, grasses of field margins, and species that appear wherever soil is regularly broken for crops. It overlaps heavily with arvensis. Appears as agrarius (masculine), agraria (feminine), or agrarium (neuter).
Etymology
From Latin agrarius, "growing in or belonging to farms, to (cultivated) fields".
